Philippines raises alert level as Mayon Volcano erupts

Baku, October 30, AZERTAC The Philippines' Mayon Volcano erupted in Albay province, prompting authorities to raise the local area's Volcano Alert Level from 2 to 3 on a five-tiered scale, Xinhua reported.A moderately explosive eruption occurred at Mayon Volcano at 11:53 AM today, sending a dense, rapidly ascending and billowing ash plume 3,000 meters above the summit crater. The plume was dispersed to the west-southwest by moderate winds and ashfall is expected to fall in the communities of Daraga, Camalig, Guinobatan and adjacent municipalities of Albay.
